Miss Caitlyn Quarter 1 - 3rd grade

We had a fabulous conference with Mrs. Hervas today.  C bear, you are doing amazing.  Mrs. Hervas had so many kind things to say about you and the way you treat others.  She presented this to us and told us you always do your best (which is stellar).

Mrs. Hervas and Ms. White teared up when they read us this letter you had written coach Rubino about her Dad being sick.  You have a heart of gold and God's love shines through you.

I found this in your journal about Mrs. C last year.  My heart melted and so did hers when I sent it to her via text (with your permission of course).  I love you sweet lady...as Mrs. Hervas says "Caitlyn has a heart of a servant to others".  You are a servant of God's love, always remember that.

This is the sweet follow up email Mrs. Hervas sent after conferences.

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Davey!

Thank you for attending our recent parent-teacher conference. We appreciate you taking the time to meet with us, and we hope that our conference was able to provide you with some valuable insight into Caitlyn’s progress in school. Ms. White and I look forward to our continued partnership throughout the remainder of the school year. Just to recap our discussion:

1.      Caitlyn is doing very well academically and well above class average in all content areas.
2.      Caitlyn is doing well in math, she can improve participation scores by being more involved in class discussions before she feels completely confidant on the current unit. We’re looking forward to seeing her grow in this area.
3.      While Caitlyn can become off task as times by chatting with friends, she easily rejoins the conversation when redirected calmly and cheerfully.
4.      Homework expectations are 45 min – 60 min; when Caitlyn has reached her cap Mom or Dad will write a note in the math workbook to let the teacher know about the timing. Caitlyn will receive full credit for these assignments.
5.      Caitlyn is growing in her willingness to read aloud and we are excited to see this continue.
6.      Caitlyn regularly proves her sensitivity and empathy toward others, a fantastic example of this is the sweet note she wrote to Coach Rubino.

Overall, we are seeing Caitlyn adjust well to 3rd grade curriculum and expectations. I am so grateful she was placed in my class this year! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to better support you.

Warmly,
Mrs. Hervas
