Arete Read A Thon

Em went as Cleopatra for the 2015 Arete Read a Thon
She looked beautiful

She won best costume in her class

Caitlyn went as Fern (with Wilber) from Charlotte's web
She looked adorable

Em's class enjoyed snacking on treats and making Treasure Island bookmarks
They read an abridged version of Treasure Island for the Read A Thon

We have been blessed with an amazing lead teacher and assistant this year.  Mrs. Anderson (Pocahontas) and Ms. Porcelli (Huckleberry Fin).
Mrs. Anderson is a very strong and realistic teacher and Ms. Porcelli is the sweetest assistant and the students LOVE her.  So thankful

God's grace

As I put one foot in front of the other each day in life and as I train for my half marathon for this year, I am reminded that each day is a new day and God's grace is renewed.

We saw this beautiful rainbow early one morning on a training run (6:15 ish- after 6 miles)

The Brautz

The "Brautz" have been practicing Corn Hole for the annual Oktoberfest Corn Hole competition. Our new GU Corn Hole set is going to be key in our 1st place win in two weeks!! Second place is up for grabs as we will be champions !! Thanks Nate, Laura, Mom and Dad for our very own practice set. We will make you proud.

Little Fern

A sneak peak of Little Fern from Charlotte's Web. Caitlyn is going to be Fern for the Literature Day/Read a Thon for school.
Too cute

School friends

Voyage of the Dawn Treader Literature Celebration

Room mom duty number 2- so after the Charlotte's Web Fair I ran home, ate a quick lunch and showered (as it was super hot running around taking pics)! Once I got my second wind- I went back to school to assist with the 5th grade Literature Celebration.

The three classes rotated to each classroom
1. Food and Snacks that would have been eaten on a ship
2. A craft based on the book
3. Card games that may have been played on the voyage

Mr. Glascock (one of the other 5th grade teachers), Emma and friends

Em, Hanna, Grace and Avarie playing Shabby Queen
Such a fun day! And after this we went to the orthodontist, the soda shop and had double soccer practices...whew ! I am still tired
