Happy Baptismal Day Miss Caitlyn

Happy Baptismal Day Miss Catherine Eva Davey. Today was the day (two years ago) that we asked God to take you and bless you as one of his children. We asked him to guide you and keep you in his care until you reach heaven. We asked God to help us raise you as a Christian and a Catholic.

Nana and Papa holding you at St. Anne's Catholic Church where you were baptized on June 28, 2008 in Gilbert, AZ.

Here is a look back on your big sister Emma and her Baptismal Day. She was baptized on September 4, 2005 at St. Catherine of Sienna in Kennesaw,GA (suburb of Atlanta, GA).
Praise God for our two special gifts from heaven.
Each year we celebrate your baptisms by lighting your baptismal candles, saying a prayer of thanksgiving and having a little treat. Tonight it was sugar cookies. God is wonderful. Let us all be like little children and come to God with no hesitation.

June Fun

The Phoenix Children's Museum- one FUN way to beat the heat in PHX !!

Emma, Caitlyn, Noah, Jack, Simon and Avery (Kolbee and Charlie were asleep most of the time) had a blast at the museum today. We were there for 3 1/2 hours and could have stayed longer. We look forward to going back. Emma gave rides to the girls and they loved it.

The new addition to the museum is the amazing fort made out of all kinds of awesome materials. Thank goodness a team of engineers built it.

Caitlyn loved gassing up the car and would even make the sound effects

Ice cream anyone ?

We joined the Stenhoffs at their home on Saturday to celebrate Anna and Mathea's birthdays. Caitlyn and Mathea playing together.

Emma had a blast at Vacation Bible school again this year and wanted to go back after the weekend. Simon, Avery and Jack were in her group (the monkey) this year. The monkey's name was Wink. They learned all kinds of things about God's word this year and of course lots of fun songs. Caitlyn is ready to go next year.

Dancing on the last day of VBS.

Licorice and a horsey ride - what more can a two year old ask for. We had lots of fun with Uncle Nate here. The girls have been asking about him since he left. We sent him off to D.C. to get settled into his new place.

Wyoming Summer 2010

We enjoyed some cooler weather while we were in Wyoming. It was nice to smell the fresh air after a nice rain. It ended up raining everyday but the day we arrived and the day before we left. I have never seen Wyoming prettier. The hills, mountains and plains were gorgeous and green. It was breath taking. We did a lot of much needed relaxing and we also did lots of visiting with family and friends. It was a wonderful trip.

Dinner with the Trujillos and McCarthys

Gotta love extra sets of Grandparents to "help out". This is Deacon Ed who said our vows at our wedding. We have been friends with Ed's family for many years. I had to laugh when we arrived at dinner, I looked over and Deacon Ed was holding up Caitlyn at the fountain and our other family friend Pam was giving her pennies to throw in. I guess they are well trained grandparents. We enjoyed catching up with them all. They said, watch out we will surprise you with a visit someday. I told them to do it anytime. We hope they come to AZ after Mom and Dad move. I know they will miss each other.

We did a whirlwind tour the Friday we were there. We started with a visit to Gillette to see my Grandma Dorothy for lunch. Then, we drove to Buffalo to meet my dear friend Beth for an early dinner. Beth drove down from Sheridan to meet us. We also drove past my Dad's old home in Buffalo to show the girls. It was cold and raining so we didn't get out to play in Buffalo. We did enjoy catching up with Beth and meeting her darling baby Shayla. The girls had fun.

Visit and lunch with Grandma Dorothy.

The first night we were in town we went to Grandma Velma's for Chinese food. The girls played soccer outside Primrose so she could watch them run around. Emma is named after Grandma's mother, Emma. That would be Emma's great great grandma.

Dad's retirement party

We took a trip to Wyoming the second week in June to celebrate my Dad's retirement. He is an electrical engineer and worked for a company called Automation Electronics for 39 years. He began sweeping the floors before he went to college. He actually hired Stewart Tanner, who now owns the company, about 25 years ago as a salesman. The party was at the Casper Country Club. There were about 130 people there to celebrate. Stewart gave a very kind speech about my Dad and his role in the development and success of A & E over the years. I am very proud of my Dad and his dedication to Automation. I am also SOOOOOO excited to have him and my Mom moving closer to us in the next few months. Congratulations Dad, you deserve the best.

One of the main things Automation does is design circuit boards that help control and run oil wells. This was a circuit board lamp that some of the guys made as a gag gift. Pretty funny.
And, yes those wires that are on the circuit boards are similar to the ones I used to cut when I worked in the back off and on in high school and over Christmas break in college. BORING, but I guess they are important when they are all put together. :-)

Visits from family

Over the past month or so we have been blessed with family visitors. Here are a few clips of our time with them. We always enjoy spending time with fam.

Uncle Nate came home with us from Wyoming and will be here for a week and a half. We have enjoyed having Uncle Nate here. We have been swimming a lot and eating yummy food.

Before we left for our trip to Wyoming Bryan's Dad and Grandma came to town. Dan and Bryan golfed in the Autism Collation's annual Swing for the Spectrum Fundraiser tournament. We enjoyed a visit and a pizza dinner while the girls swam in the kiddy pool.

Nana and Papa were here for a few weeks in May. Nana and Papa had tea party with the girls. It was their very first one and lots of fun.

Grandma Janis also popped by for a visit while she was in town for work. It was nice to catch up for a bit.
