NOLA

We stayed at Hotel Monteleone
Historic hotel on Royale street in the French Quarter

Famous carousal bar- yes, the seats go around and around

Awesome shelves made by a local company that uses all reclaimed wood from Hurricane Katrina - we hope one day to own a few of these

Had to get our photo in Jackson square, just like we did 13 years ago.  We are a little bit more round and have a few more wrinkles but we still love NOLA.

We went to mass at St. Louis Cathedral, the oldest Cathedral in the United States.  It is breath taking.

The St. Louis Cathedral is one of New Orleans' most notable landmarks. This venerable building, its triple steeples towering above its historic neighbors, the Cabildo and the Presbytere - looks down benignly on the green of the Square and General Andrew Jackson on his bronze horse and on the block-long Pontalba Buildings with their lacy ironwork galleries. Truly, this is the heart of old New Orleans.

The haunted wine cellar where EBI had it's dinner meeting with the group that had them out to visit

Music on French street

The Commander Palace for brunch

Since 1880, Commander's Palace has been a New Orleans landmark known for the award-winning quality of its food and many commodious dining rooms. The history of this famous restaurant offers a glimpse into New Orleans' antebellum past. In the early 1880's, when Louisiana officially joined the nation, eager young Anglo-Saxons flocked to this promising territory to make their fortunes. Since the Vieux Carré was the stronghold of the proud Creoles, these "Americans" (as they were defined by the Creoles) sought a residential section of their own. Thus was born the Garden District, with its stately Greek Revival homes and quiet, tree lined streets.

What a wonderful weekend getaway, can we go back?
