Tis the Night of Halloween

We had a nice relaxing Halloween afternoon. We made chili and and ate "pumpkin" bread.

The weather was lovely. The girls enjoyed carving pumpkins and digging out the seeds for us to roast. Caitlyn kept saying "this is Bisgusting."

Our sparkling witch

This is my favorite picture- these girls Crack me up.

Trick or treating in the hood- our neighbor's house was all done up.

Happy Halloween 2010

Funny memories from the evening

We had gone to the first house of the evening and the girls both got a pack of M&M's. As we walked to the next house a little girl (maybe 3 years old) walked towards Caitlyn. Caitlyn said "she gonna take my candy." :-)

As I was reading to Emma, she said Mom "let me know if we have anymore costumers." (trick or treaters).

A week of firsts

We had a very busy week of "firsts" while Bryan was away in Baltimore and D.C. for work.

Emma had her first day of Catechesis.

This year Jack and Emma are in the same atrium session. Jen had been talking to Jack, telling him he was going to do something special that afternoon. She told him that Emma would be there. Jack said "oh, is it like when you and Daddy go on a date?" How adorable.

Emma's Kindergarten class went on their first field trip to Mother Nature's Farm.

Emma, Mrs. Lang and Haylie

Emma's class !! The farm opened up an hour early just for the Kindergartners. They decorated pumpkins, bounced in the bounce house, did the hay maze, had a snack, played, went on a hay ride, visited farm animals and bounced some more. They all had a ball. The parents did too. There were only 4 parents that couldn't make it. It was a lovely morning.

First Daisy Scout meeting. Reading with Claire and Lauren before the meeting began.

Playing a little game. Daisy to Daisy.

Daisy scout leaders- Miss Stephanie and Miss Jen
The girls got their vests. They will begin earning petals for their daisy flower by doing projects, crafts and service projects in the community. Emma is super excited.
What a wonderful week.

Stache Attack

We joined our good friends on Friday night for dinner and our TEAMS couple meeting/prayer group. Bryan told the guys at the last meeting that October was beard growing month. So, we decided to help the guys out in case they had not begun the process. Here they are sporting their awesome mustaches. The only bummer is that we were missing John.

Fall Break Festivities

Monday, October 18, 2010- last day of fall break.
We joined the Stenhoff family and Tara's friend Betsy and her baby Noah at the zoo. We a fun morning out and enjoyed a yummy burger at In and Out for lunch. It was a great way to end Fall Break. We tried to pack as many outings and play dates as we could after our family left. It was so nice to be able to enjoy some of our favorite outings with Emma home.

Our little neighbor Ella came over on Friday for a lunch, craft and cookie play date. Em and El had lots of fun. Bryan took the day off but had to attend an insurance luncheon so he was gone for a few hours while we had our play date.

We met up with two of Emma's girlie friends from Edu-Prize at the PHX Children's Museum.

Eating fresh picked corn on the cob ! YUM

While we were getting our yummy snacks, it began to rain and then HAIL. This was about 45 minutes after the hay ride. It was crazy fun. Thank goodness we were right next to the kettle corn during the storm. Emma thought is was "cool." It was an experience that is for sure. We are just happy that we had done all of the activities before it stormed. After we cleaned up a bit, we drove into downtown Prescott. We walked around Dogtoberfest a bit and then ate dinner with the Normans. It was a great day. Lots of fun memories.
