Great Hearts Day

Arete celebrates Great Hearts Day around Feb. 14th. This year I had the pleasure of planning the project for Emma's 5th grade class.  

"Fill up the Friendship Mug" 

Each student was given a ceramic mug with their name on it.  One by one their classmates wrote a virtue on the mug that they had seen the student demonstrate.  They then wrote a personalized message on a paper heart and filled up the mug with sweet words/notes.  It went very well and I hope they all look back on their last year of elementary school with fond memories of great hearted friends. 

These are the days I wish I could clone myself because these cuties were down the hall making friendship bracelets (or in Andy's case, friendship headbands). What a great day.
