Caitlyn's song

This morning Caitlyn was in the family room just a singing away getting most of the words and the melody. The song... Twinkle Twinkle - of course. I ran to grab the camera and this is all I could capture. I will try again if she has another performance.

Caitlyn's Easter Egg hunt

Cutie Pie Drew (he is going to be a doll when he gets older) and Caitlyn at the park for an Easter Egg Hunt

Treats for everyone

Look mommy, eggs

The Catholic Mom's group munchkins and a few moms who had to corral a few cuties (i.e. Caitlyn and Noah) he he

Our little Easter Egg hunt was right down the street from our house near the Norman family's house (less than a mile). I let Caitlyn hold her basket on the way home. As we turned onto our street this is what I saw....ahhhh - the black jelly bean. This resulted in a bath and a change of clothes. But, oh so fun !!

Happy Friday

We have had a busy week getting back in the grove from Spring Break. Bryan had his big golf day and fundraiser dinner with all of the benefactors for ACCEL. We got our new trees in the back yard. Emma was sick and is now better. Oh and then there was the regular stuff called life.

We decided to end the week with a busy day. After dropping Emma off, Caitlyn and I went on a quick 3 miler around the windy neighborhood. It is so nice to be out. Caitlyn loves it too. It is always good to clear the mind.

We jetted back to MIS to pick up Emma and attend to the America The Beautiful festival at the Brown campus. The elementary and upper elementary have been studying the United States and put together a fun set of booths full of information. There was popcorn, treats and Jamba Juice. It was fun to catch up with some school friends and play games.

YUM- not sure what is up with Emma's hip action??

Playing green light, red light with Ms. Laura

We went home for nap/rest time. After Emma had some down time, we did a reading lesson and had some snacks. When Caitlyn woke up we headed to Lifetime for some fun for all. The girls went to childcare and I went to barbell class with my friend Jen. When I picked up the girls from childcare, the gals were telling me stories about Caitlyn and how they want to take her home with them, she is so cute. I am just happy that she had a good time. When I got there, she was spinning around in circles in la la Caitlyn land. FUN FUN. After some fish tacos at Rubios, a bath and some stories, the girls are passed out. I am thankful for today and happy I get to spend my days with my little girlies. Thank you God for my little gifts.

Best Seat in the House

I turned on Noggin while I was loading the dishwasher and when I looked up this is what I found. Caitlyn trying out her baby's stroller.

Hey, what can I say...it is the best seat in the house- front row.

Emma's prayer

Emma taught me a new prayer tonight- she had me repeat after her...

God is always with us,
He wants us to be nice,
He wants us to love,
He wants us to be nice to our buddies

This is pretty much what we all need to live by each day. It is always amazing to hear what she has to share. This evening at Mass we sat in front of Ms. Claudia (Emma's Catechesis teacher). It was neat for them to be able to share Mass and the sign of peace. God is good.

Superstition Farm

Meeting our neighbors.
Little did we know when we moved into our new home that we had about 20,000 dairy cows as neighbors. In my defense it is pretty hidden from the main road and no realtor in their right mind was going to disclose this willingly. Let's just say I was not too happy the first year considering I was pregnant and had a "super sniffer" as Bryan called it. I did a lot of complaining and praying that they would all just move or pass onto cow heaven. HA !!! I have now come to accept the fact that even if by the grace of God, a few of these lovely dairies are bought out by developers, there is no way they will all be gone in the time that we live here. So...I will be the one who has to move and that is not going to happen for a while. I am accepting them (because I have no choice) and was willing (after 2.5 years) to go on the tour of Superstition Farm. We had a nice time and learned a few things. The girls had a blast!! I on the other hand, found all things wrong with their dairy and the way they do things (with the help of the information I learned in the documentary Food Inc.). For now we will stick to the nice morning that we had as a family. This is Emma in front of the animals the family has taken in as rescue animals.

Two farmers on the tractor.

Pointing at the chickens running around.

Listening to the farmers teach us about dairy cows.

Petting the bunnies- this was by far the best part.

Since the girls did not want to feed the rescue animals and Bryan has a huge blister on his hand from digging up a palm tree, I took one for the team and held out the food for this big tongued sheep to enjoy. Thank goodness they had a Costco sized antibacterial container standing by.

Our oh so lovely smelling neighbors- about 2,000 of them live here.

Serious sister bear taking in the sights.

Going on a hay ride.

After the tour we enjoyed some milk from the milk bar. Emma had strawberry, Caitlyn had banana and Bryan had cherry vanilla. I on the other hand could only take so many steps towards accepting these 1,500 lbs beasts in one day. The milk bar was just a bit too much. Smell ya later cowies.

Toothbrush Talk

Tonight, Caitlyn was sporting a pair of Emma's ol PJ's that have a little bee on the shirt. The shirt says "busy bee" which is very fitting for an almost 2 year old. While I was helping Emma brush her teeth this our conversation-

Mommy: "Isn't it cute to see Caitlyn in your old PJ's, can you believe you were ever that little, you are growing up too fast, can't you slow down?"
Emma: "But Mom I am going to be a Mommy."
Mommy: "Does that mean I will be a Nana?"
Emma: "Yes, and I will still love you when you are a Nana."
(heart melted) and we hugged and snuggled- OHHHH I just love these little moments of life.

Memories

Meeting Pluto

Caterpillar ride in Bug Town- when you go through the watermelon it blows a puff of watermelon sent- it was so cool. The same thing happened when we went through the box of animal cookies.

After three days of fun, we all wanted to ride in a stroller. Thanks so much for making the trip from Honduras to be with us Nate. As Emma says "you are the best Uncle Nate."

One last pose with CA Mickey.

CA Minnie

Riding the hot air balloons in Bug town in California Adventures

A sweet sister moment on the tram from the parking lot to the front entrance. The tram was Caitlyn's favorite ride. The choo choo train.

Daddy and the girls

California Adventures

Bryan and Great Grandma Janet

More favorites

Nana, Papa and the girls driving a Toon Town car

Cotton candy for the very first time - yum

Hangen out in Minnie's kitchen - it would be so fun to have a playhouse like this

Uncle Nate and Papa getting ready to rock the Toon Town roller coaster. This was Emma's first roller coaster ride. It was short and sweet but a little too much for her. She said "Mom, that was too fast for me, I didn't like it, but I didn't cry." That's my girl.

Ready to head into Disney land on our second day. We were so blessed to have beautiful weather and sunshine.
