Emma and Mom's staycation

Em and I enjoyed the best Mom and Daughter stay cation last weekend at the Arizona Biltmore hotel. We began our day with massages. We got to share the experience in the same room.

The Arizona Biltmore is a living architectural masterpiece, showcasing the seminal influence of America’s most heralded architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. As the consulting architect, Wright collaborated with a former student, Albert Chase McArthur. Wright’s dramatic style and imprimatur are imbedded throughout the resort’s design. The Biltmore was erected entirely of “Biltmore Block,” a variation on a textile block first used by Wright to construct private homes. The pre-cast blocks were made from desert sand on-site and created in 34 different geometric patterns inspired by the trunk of a palm tree.  It opened in 1929.

I surprised Emma with a little necklace with her initial and a pearl.

After breakfast we enjoyed some pool time.

After our swim, we hit Scottsdale Fashion Square mall and had some fun.  We ended our day at Zin Burger for a late dinner and orange cream soda.

Ahhh, time for a good nights sleep in our comfy beds.  Emma loved the warm towel on her toes at the end of her massage so we ended our day with them as well.  Even though we had two beds, we snuggled in mine and watched Chopped  on the Food channel until late.

A litte breakfast (or big breakfast) before we checked out.

After a lovely walk around the Biltmore grounds we headed home and went to mass together at St. Tim's.  It was to share a nice weekend with my beautiful young lady.  Happy 10th bday miss Em and Em.  You made my dreams of being a mom come true 10 short years ago. XOXO! You are the best !

Emma's 10th Birthday celebration(s)

We began Emma's birthday celebration in Pinetop over the 4th of July with Nana and Papa! We spent the afternoon at the family fun park riding go-carts and put put golfing.  She opened gifts and we enjoyed homemade ice-cream and cookies.  We took her to the Pasta House...her favorite place to eat in the White Mountains.

The morning of July 11th, Em opened gifts from Mom, Dad and Caitlyn while she enjoyed donuts and Starbucks!

I had a fun time planning Emma's French/Paris themed party.  Thank goodness for Pinterest...as I copied a fabulous Mom's party ideas...almost exactly.
