Happy 41st to Dad

We had fun celebrating Dad's 41st birthday! Just think he was 25 when we met. We had dinner at Benihana with Nana and Papa.  After that we celebrated with yummy cake with Jay, Steph and Lauren.  We celebrated with neighborhood families on Sunday by trying out Top Golf.
Happy Birthday hun.  Thank you for all you do for our family.  You are the best.  To many more.

a broken finger

Just when everything starts to calm down...soccer ended, a piano recital completed...Em breaks her finger on her growth plate.  We don't have a good story.  She just ran into a wall running backward with her had out ??!!**. And a few urgent care/orthopedic surgeon appointments later, there is nothing they can do.  So she wore a metal splint for a few weeks and is feeling much better.  NEVER a dull moment.

A note from Mrs. Cook

My email to Mrs. Cook:

Hi Mrs. Cook,

My little lady turns 8 on May 7th .
Can she bring in her something special on Monday May 9th?
Andrea

Her response:

Absolutely! How exciting for her! Depending on the treat we can eat it during snack time (9:00) or right after pack up, before dismissal (2:40).

I wanted to write you a quick note about how great her leadership abilities are. Today the class was rowdy (which believe it or not is unusual). Caitlyn took it upon herself to quiet the class down, in a way that showed compassion and respect to all her peers (she didn't just shhh! everyone). She went around and quietly reminded the students of the choices they had during that time. She is such a natural leader! At such a young age she knows how to speak and act towards her peers in a way that warrants respect. I'm sure you already know this, but you've got such a special girl on your hands! Thank you for sharing her with me this year! :)

Arete Spring Choir Concert

We enjoyed the girls Spring Choir Concert this week. Emma was an alternate for the 5th grade speaking part. She came home and reported she kept trying to cough on Luke so that he would get sick and she could do the part.  His mom got a good laugh when I told her.  Thanks for a good laugh Em.

Em's new room

Since our baby is turning 11 this summer, we decided to update her room as her gift.  It was a lot of fun and a lot of work.  It turned out lovely.

Soccer parties

Caitlyn's team had so much fun this season and did very well. Bryan passed the coaching torch and it was nice for him to have a season off.  He will be back to assist Coach Amy in the fall. Go Pink Dolphins!!

Swim party to celebrate

By the time we got to Em's party we were running out of steam.  After two games and two swim parties, we still had two piano duet recitals.  Em's team had another fantastic season.  The only lost two games. One to the team that has been our biggest competition (who we beat last fall) and the club team.  To end the season, Emma scored two goals during the last game. IT WAS AWESOME !!!

Next year will be quite the adventure as Emma plays volleyball at school and soccer for Marc's team.  Are we crazy, well yes, and time will tell to what degree.

APBA DC

We took a quick trip to DC for APBA.  Bryan was there for 5 days as incoming president of the board.  I flew in for a quick 3 days to work on a few credits and have some fun.  We got to sneak in a dinner to Cava (one of Nate and Laura's favorites).  We also had a lovely dinner with these great people at an Argentina steak house - but a few of us had Lobster.
