Our Saturday began with the Gilbert Half Marathon. Jen, Heidi and I began training in August. We spent many hours getting our miles in early on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. I am beyond blessed to have these ladies in my life and my running partners. We shared many hours of chatting the miles away, taking about our lives and for that I am grateful. For me, running is good for the heart and the soul. This race was my favorite out of the 5 half marathons I have done. It was so awesome running in our own back yard. We started at the Higley Performing Arts Center and ended in Downtown Gilbert.
Somehow I managed to beat all of my previous times, finishing in 2 hours, 14 minutes and 17 seconds. Not sure how that happened considering I am not in great shape compared to previous years. Looking back, my first race time was 2 hours 28 minutes. Anyway, not too shabby for an old lady with a super busy schedule. It was a great day !!
We got to run right by Morrison Ranch. The girls, Bryan, my parents and Heidi's family came out to cheer us on.
First up was Jen - getting some high fives

The best part was the last mile. The Gilbert days parade was going on while we finished the race (see the tractor). The streets were lined with people cheering and the parade was next to us. By far the best finish line ever!! I heard my name yelled out and turned to see our friends Jay and his mom in law Carol. They were there to see Lauren as her troop walked in the parade. It was so awesome to see friends at mile 12. Carol snapped this scary pic.
Thanks to my parents for cheering for me even though I'm 37! Thanks ma and pa.
Next up, Caitlyn's last soccer game. What a great season. Bryan had so much fun coaching these cuties. We will miss them but are happy to have our Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays back until February.

Onto Emma's game. The Jaguars played the one and only team that beat them last Spring and they were out to win. They beat them 2 to 0 ! It was awesome to watch. Great game girls. Still undefeated with one make up game left (due to being rained out) on December 5th.

Congrats on your great run! And to the girls & B for their successful soccer seasons!
