Get ready, Get set, Get CLEAN

Well, it is that time again.. the Daveys are going on a cleanse. We had been tossing the idea around for a few weeks. Since we did one two years ago, it has been something we have wanted to do again. I heard about CLEAN from some of my Aunt's friends. A few of them had done the CLEAN detox and a few of them are getting ready to start it for lent. Bryan and I checked into it online and decided to GO FOR IT !! It seems similar in ways to the detox we did we my cousin/trainer and his nutritionist but this was one is a little more strict. No dairy. I spent nap/rest time prepping our shake ingredients and our meal for tomorrow. We are having...

Fresh blueberry and raspberry shakes with coconut milk, cinnamon, blue agave and ice (oh and of course one scoop of "nourish" and one scoop of "move" detox powders) - mmmm, I think it sounds yummy
We also will be taking supplements throughout the day, eating cloves of garlic and drinking olive oil at night (instead of wine) - OK, so that sounds a little crazy...but not as crazy as eating processed CRAP that is toxic to our system. RIGHT??

The "bomb" that went off in the kitchen as I prepped our meals

And for our main meal...Quinoa salad with chicken and mixed greens - it smells and tastes delicious. Yes, this recipe has about 12 more ingredients than my cooking comfort level allows, but I am going to do my best. The word on the pages of the book say that it is likely that you will be irritable and crabby on the first few days of the cleanse- so I guess you should all steer clear of the Davey household. By the end of the first week we are supposed to feel amazing, have tons of energy and be glowing. Cross your fingers we make it through the first few days so we can get to the amazing part. One day at a time, one meal at a time. Check it out below - Cheers for now to one more class of wine. Happy Lenten season.
