The Davey family can't go to Spokane WA without touring Gonzaga ! It holds a special place in our hearts since Bryan and I both went to school there for a number of years (11 put all together).
Bryan was there from 1993 to 2000 and yes he did get two degrees in that time. :-) He got his BA in History and his MEd in Special Education. I was there from 1999-2003 where I finished my undergrad, student taught for year and got my MEd in Special Education. Needless to say, we are waiting for the board to name something after us since we were there so long and still owe them a chunk of change. Even if it is small rock or door knob or something! :-)
Emma in front of the Administration building. Every year we visit things continue to change, for the better. The campus is gorgeous and the new buildings just add to the beauty.
Caitlyn in front of the Ad building making a wish. We were hoping that she is making a wish to go to GU when she is older. We will be the ever supporting parents as the girls get older, even if they have other dreams that do not include Gonzaga. We would be absolutely thrilled if one of both of the girls followed in our footsteps and experienced a Jesuit education, filled with academics, service work, core classes such as philosophy and religion to develop the whole person.
But, for now since they do not know any better we just tell them that this is where they will go to college. Emma is cool with it and Caitlyn loves that their mascot is a bulldog.
We do know that strategy of telling them, "this is where you will go to college" works since that is what Bryan's Grandma would tell him as the drove by Gonzaga in the summers when they were on their way to Sandpoint, ID to vacation. We will stick with that plan.
The Daveys after getting up at 4:30am to catch our flight
Girlies playing outside the dorm where Daddy first lived
The new McCarthy center on campus where the bulldogs play- back in our day, they played in the field house and you could walk in with your student ID- now days there is a lot of waiting in lines for tickets- GO ZAGS
The house that Bryan lived in when we met- lovely, the front door is open, a bunch of college guys must still live there
My little brother's house his senior year after he got back from Florence, Italy his junior year. It looks pretty good. I helped him and his buddies find this place to rent while they were in Florence- I think I did a good job.

My house for a year and a half- I lived here after I lived with Sherita. I had one of the upstairs apartments- it was pretty nice, but got very small when my brother moved in and lived with me for 2 months our last summer there (2003) and oh yeah I was trying to finish my thesis. CRAZY- Many fond memories from that summer.
Caitlyn and Emma in front of the ELK in Spokane. One of our favorite places to eat and socialize back in the day.
We met up with some Gonzaga friends for a quick play date at Riverfront park since we were only in Spokane for one afternoon. Emma with Charissa, Mazlyn and Savanna. Hard to believe that their mama Sherita and I used to live to together, now between us we have 5 gorgeous girlies. Sherita and I met my first semester at GU in an education class. We lived together later while I student taught and she started grad school. She is an awesome gal and was a bridesmaid in our wedding.
Caitlyn going down the big red wagon slide.
Daddy and Em feeding the ducks sun chips that Miss Kristen had. Caitlyn would feed one to the ducks and feed herself one- too funny.
