"That is so boring"

Said my Mom as we ate lunch.  

Nana and Papa came over for lunch today and the girls were so excited.  As we dined on pesto and ham paninis Emma and Caitlyn launched into many exciting and somewhat gross stories they had learned about on-line when we did a recent "discovery" about snakes on the ipad.  Something about a huge snake that accidentally ate golf balls that were mistaken for eggs and a veterinarian did surgery to remove them.  ewwww and all of this while we ate, so what does this ol mom say in the most serious and matter of fact voice- 

"Come on guys, let's talk about when we went to Target to get school supplies" yup, I said it and at the time it seemed like a good transition from the gross snake surgery to the excitement we had just shared as a family at Target.  

Well, it did not work. My Mom blurted out "that is so boring" as she started cracking up over my good idea at the time.  Well, thanks Mom for keeping me in check, I will take it as a wake up call that I need to spice it up a little.  As I drove to boot camp I laughed out loud at how ridiculous that must have sounded.  

As the years go on, I will think of today and laugh and remember that I need to keep it fresh and interesting.  I mean next time it could be worse "hey you all, let's have a conversation about cleaning the bathroom."  

I don't want to be the "boring" Mom, the "embarrassing" Mom YES, but NOT the boring Mom.  Embarrassing Mom evidence below.
