a little peak

I had the opportunity to observe Caitlyn in her Montessori classroom yesterday. I always love getting to see what school is like for my girls. When I first arrived, she did not notice me. She was hard at work on a punch out work, focusing on fine motor skills, she was so cute with her little apron on. Each child is encouraged to do their math and reading lesson each day. For Caitlyn, her current math lesson is the number rods. They are wooden rods that represent numbers 1-10. She has mastered one to one correspondence for numbers 0-6 and is getting there on 7-10. Her reading lesson are sound lessons/sand paper sounds and she is 3 sounds away from getting to work with the movable alphabet to begin to make words. She was also asked by Miss Reggie to help a younger student with the red rods, so she got to demonstrate how to grade by length. I could not be more proud of you sister Bear.
